Accountability

In the previous post, about Retirement, I raised the question:

 Where are the checks and balances that ensure that God's people are well-served and safe? 

 In my experience, it seems like this area and extension of a pastor's service is not well-thought-out. In my experience, my mentor was pretty much left to his own devices as far as how he would "serve" and use his time and talents for the Lord. In my experience, the parishioner [me] was not well-served, or sheltered in any way. She was alone in all that happened to her for ten years of her life.
