I think it was around
1990 when I first started reading about child sexual abuse in the Catholic
Church. It received huge publicity, and still does.
It made me wonder even more about my own situation. Did the same thing happen to grown-ups? What about in other denominations? What about the Methodists, and the Lutherans, and the Presbyterians? Were there others going through scenarios similar to my own? I must have led a pretty sheltered life... or have been very naive... or maybe just oblivious to what was happening around me.

I started looking for
books and articles that might assure me I was not the only one. There was
not much material available on the topic. Libraries were of little help… and
professional libraries were not always accessible to me.
The internet widened
my focus and search. I resorted to purchasing some books, just so I could
read and learn more about my problem.
I needed to understand what was going on.
And that is still the case. I'm looking for some kind of structured guidance in working through this healing process.
Hopefully, Amazon.com is an answer… or at least a starting point.
